What Is SMS/MMS Messaging?
SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) allow you to send and receive text messages and media—like images, documents, or audio files—through a phone number associated with your account.
In Qvara, users can manage text conversations with customers, send bulk announcements, automate replies, and create reusable message templates—all from one streamlined interface.
Tip: Hover over the “?” icons in the interface for quick descriptions of buttons and settings.
Sending an SMS/MMS Message
1. From the left pop-out menu, go to: "UC User" → "SMS/MMS Messaging"
2. You’ll see a list of phone numbers assigned to your account or available through your role permissions. Click on the number you want to send a message from.
3. This opens your Messages tab (your message inbox). In the inbox:
View all existing conversations.
Click on a message thread to open the conversation history and type a reply.
Use the purple “+” button in the upper corner by the search bar and fill out the form to start a new thread.
Use the toolbar icons to:
Delete a conversation
Pop the message window back in
Mark thread as unread
Pin threads for easy access

SMS Opt-Outs
View a list of phone numbers that have opted out of receiving messages from your system.
Use the “Add Recipient” option to manually block sending to specific contacts.
Legal Advisory: Your customers have the legal right to opt out of SMS communications. Manually removing a contact from the opt-out list without documented permission could:
Damage your SMS deliverability and domain reputation
Result in platform-level account suspension or investigation
Violate local or federal communication compliance regulations (e.g., TCPA)
Always honor opt-outs and ensure your SMS usage follows best practices and consent requirements.
