Manually Provisioning a Grandstream ATA
Overview
When provisioning a Grandstream HT81x Series ATA, it’s important to ensure you’re using the correct MAC address and configuration steps. This guide covers how to locate the correct IP and MAC addresses and how to configure the device for provisioning through the Primevox system.
A note about the Grandstream HT81x Series ATAs
When entering the MAC address in the provisioning GUI, use the LAN or "Local Device" MAC Address — not the WAN address that might appear through an IP scanner.
- The correct MAC address is printed on the sticker on the back of the device.
- Using the WAN address will result in provisioning failure.
Finding the Device IP Address
1. Log into the Grandstream ATA by using its IP address. This can be found by either:
- Using an IP scanner to locate the device on a network, or
- By plugging in an analog phone into port 1 of the ATA and dialing *** (press the star key three times).
2. Once you hear the prompt “Enter the menu option“, dial 02 and the IP address will be announced.
Configuration Instructions
1. Once logged in, go to the Advanced Settings tab.2. Set the upgrade via HTTP and enter the provisioning URL in the Config Server Path field.3. Set the following:
- 3CX Auto Provision: NO
Allow DHCP Option 66 or 120 to override server: NO
4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Update, then Apply your changes.
