A common practice when troubleshooting and provisioning IP devices is the factory reset, or a full restoration of the phone to its factory settings.
It is important to understand that while factory resetting a phone is a great backup plan if a device is not working properly, all of the localized settings on the device are lost when you factory reset. While you can reconfigure your phones with auto provisioning or configuration files that can be easily reapplied to the phone, it is important to remember to do so.
If your phone is already programmed with PrimeVOX, you can simply follow these instructions:
How do I factory reset my Polycom Phone?
1. Press and hold the 1, 3, and 0 keys at the same time to force the phone to reboot.
2. When the Starting Application dialog appears, press Cancel.
- The Welcome dialog will count down from 7.
3. During the Welcome dialog countdown, press and hold the 1, 3, and 5 keys at the same time to summon the password prompt.
4. Enter the MAC address of the phone using lower case characters.
- For letters, select the a->1A mode and press the key the amount of times the letter requires. (For example, the letter “f” would need to be pressed three times.)
- To backspace, press the left arrow key.
- Once entered, the Polycom phone will have been reset. The new default password is 456.
