Porting Your Phone Number to PrimeVox

Porting Your Phone Number to PrimeVox

What is porting?

Porting simply means keeping your existing phone number when you switch providers. Your phone number stays the same, only the company providing your service changes.

Getting started

  1. Gather a recent invoice from your current phone provider, dated within the last 30 days.
  2. If your provider requires porting PINs, gather those too. These may appear on your invoice, or you can request them from your current provider.
  3. Complete our port request form and upload your invoice.
  4. That's it! We'll review your request and keep you updated throughout the process.

How long does it take?

Most number transfers are completed within 3–7 business days. We'll keep you informed along the way, so you'll always know the status of your request.

Before your numbers transfer

There are two important things to remember:
  1. Don't cancel your current phone service. Wait until your numbers have successfully transferred to PrimeVox. Canceling early can delay your transfer or even cause you to lose your phone numbers.
  2. If your current provider also supplies your internet, let them know you're only transferring your phone numbers. This helps prevent your internet service from being disconnected by mistake.

After your numbers transfer

Once your transfer is complete, your phone service will be active with PrimeVox. At that point, you can cancel any remaining voice services with your previous provider.

If we need anything from you

Most transfers happen without any action on your part. If we need additional information or documentation, we'll contact you with clear instructions.

Occasionally, your current provider may reject a transfer request because the account information doesn't match their records. If that happens, we may ask you to request a Customer Service Record (CSR) from your provider.

A CSR is simply a document that shows the account details your provider has on file, such as the account name, service address, authorized user, and porting PIN. We'll let you know exactly what to request and how to send it to us if it's needed.
