What is the UCP (User Control Panel)?
The UCP is a "basic version" of the phone system admin portal that lets individual users/employees get very basic access to their OWN extensions, call history, call recordings, and voicemail. Additionally, the UCP is where users can send/receive digital faxes (eFax) and text messages (SMS).
Creating a UCP User Account
- Go to UCP Users > Manage
- Click "Add User"
- The user account requires an Email Address and Password. Name, Extensions, and eFax/SMS are optional.
-
Important Notice: If the Email Address you use for this user is already in use by an Admin account, it will not work. You will just need to make up an email address for this user.
Enabling SMS (Text Messages) for a UCP Account:
- Go to UCP Users, and Edit (or create) a user account.
- Make sure to set the SMS number in the "EFAX / SMS" tab.
- Submit
Note: Only 1 SMS number per UCP account.

Note: Group texting is not supported yet.

- Submit
- Go to UCP Users > Manage > Edit the UCP User account.
-
Go to the "EFAX / SMS" tab, and make sure the correct phone number is being used for eFax.
