What Are Message Logs?


Message Logs provide a complete, searchable record of SMS/MMS activity for a given phone number. This feature is especially useful for troubleshooting delivery issues, monitoring communication history, and maintaining compliance records.

Admins and techs with the appropriate permissions can view detailed metadata about each message sent or received through the Qvara platform.



Accessing & Managing Message Logs


1. From the left pop-out menu, navigate to: "Reports" "Message Logs"



2. You’ll be presented with a list of phone numbers associated with your account and permissions. Click on the phone number you want to view logs for.



3. This opens a detailed log of all messages associated with that number. Each row in the log includes essential message data:
    1. Date/Time Created: When the message was sent or received
    2. Direction: Whether the message was inbound (received) or outbound (sent)
    3. Other Number: The destination (for outbound) or source (for inbound)
    4. Type: SMS or MMS
    5. Delivery Status: Indicates if the message was delivered, failed, or is pending
    6. Error: If applicable, shows delivery error details
    7. Carrier: The carrier that processed the message


4. Details – Click the purple “Details” button for a full breakdown, including:
    1. Carrier Message ID
    2. Message size and number of parts
    3. Associated 10DLC Campaign ID (if applicable)


5. Additional Tools:
    1. Filter by Undelivered Messages
      1. Click the “Undelivered” filter button (upper right) to isolate failed messages and assist with troubleshooting.



    2. Switch Between Numbers
      1. Use the phone number dropdown in the top right to quickly navigate between logs for different numbers without returning to the previous screen.



Idea
Tip: Message logs are particularly helpful when tracking user-reported delivery issues. The “Details” view often provides insight into failures that can help you or your support team resolve issues quickly.
