Overview
The Primevox platform has 2 types of extension functionality classes: Virtual and Full Functionality.
Full Functionality: Extensions with all features and calling enabled. Devices (IP phones, softphones, etc.) can register and use these extensions like normal. These are billed at the normal rate.
Virtual Extension: Extensions with all features enabled, except devices (IP phones, softphones, etc.) cannot register to these extensions. The intended use for Virtual Extensions is for company/shared voicemail boxes, temporary recording extensions, and call forwarding-only extensions. These are free.
Editing the Extension Type
You can convert an extension from Full to Virtual, and vice versa, by Editing the extension and going to the Advanced tab.
Billing Classification
There are two billing classes for Full Functionality extensions: Standard and Courtesy.
Standard Billing - The standard rate for a seat/extension.
Courtesy Billing - A discounted rate, usually intended for low-volume extensions, internal-only extensions (like paging systems), some ATAs, hotel rooms, and classrooms.
You can request extension conversion to Courtesy Billing by clicking the Courtesy Extensions button at the bottom of the extension management area. Primevox staff will look at call volumes to determine which extensions qualify for courtesy status.
